Crochet Designer 101

Bomber BabyGood afternoon, crocheters. One of the coolest things about being a crochet designer is that you can take your "office" anywhere. Today is a beautiful day in the  Seattle area, so I've moved outside to work on my new crochet pattern design. I have just about completed the pattern for my new crochet jean jacket for children. I'm thrilled with the way it is turning out. I'm hoping it will be as successful as the Bomber Jacket. Check out the bomber jacket crochet pattern at Have a great crochet day

Crochet Yarn

Good morning, crocheters. I've discovered a new yarn that I absolutely love! It is from Caron, and is from their naturally caron line. It is called SPA, and is a wonderfully silky soft Bamboo blend. I found the yarn at Jo-ann fabrics. It crochets beautifully and has a luxuriously soft drape. The colors are wonderfully complex, and it's maching washable. Just what I love for designing and crocheting my Brite Babies TM collection. Did I say I love it! Watch for my new children's crochet pattern designs using this wonderful yarn at Have a great crochet day!

Spring Crochet Dress

OhSoSweetGood morning, crocheters. I've been working deligently on designing a sweet little girls spring crochet pattern. I loved the design on the drawing board, but as I'm crocheting it's not coming together as I'd planned. I think I'll take it into a new direction. The good news is, all the pieces I've completed can be put together into another garment. That's one of the fun things about creating with yarn and crochet. It doesn't have to be set in stone. If you don't like it, try something different. This is also true when you're crocheting one of my Brite Babies patterns. If you want to crochet the pattern in a different color, go for it. Change the color, leave off the sleeve, whatever personalizes it for you. Most importantly, have fun. Have a Great Crochet Day! signature-pd

Trim the TreeGood morning, crocheters! Today I am on a mission to get my patterns on Ravelry. I consider myself a fairly savy web user, but for some reason I find setting up on Ravelry really hard. Maybe it's just me.  I absolutely love this site, and feel it is an important component of growing my crochet design business. So, today is the day I figure it out. Wish me luck! Soon you will be able to find my crochet patterns on Ravelry! Once I get this accomplished I am going to curl up by the fire and continue working on my spring crochet line. Can't wait to share it with you. signature-pd

New Crochet Yarn

Good morning crocheters. I've  just received a new yarn from Cascade Yarns. It is their new Ultra Pima. I'm excited to play with it. The sheen is unbelievable. Today I'll make several swatches in different crochet stitches. That's always the first thing I do with a new yarn. I want to see how it plays out, how it highlights different stiches and techniques. From there I get inspiration for how and where I want to use it in my designs. The amazing complex colors will be wonderful in my spring crochet line. So, off to crochet I go. Have a great day. Now go crochet! signature-pd
