Spring Life - Pillow Art

This whimsical pillow will brighten up any decor. Create as is, or choose the colors you love. Pillow shown is 14 x 14” (35.5 x 35.5) but can be made in any size you choose. The chunky texture of the pillow and nest, paired with the softness of the flowers and bird creates a contemporary look. The unexpected red back adds an additional sense of fun. Degree of Difficulty Easy Materials Front: 190 yards medium worsted weight yarn in pea green, or yarn color of your choice. Back: 150 yards Chunky weight yarn in Red, or yarn color of your choice. Nest: 74 yards DK, light worsted weight yarn in variegated shades of green and brown. Remnants of DK, light worsted weight yarn in cream, light green, yellow and blue. Remnant of Medium worsted weight yarn in dark green. 14 x 14” pillow form, or size of your choice. Pattern Stitch Front: 1st row: *Sc in first st, Dc in next st*; repeat from * to * across row. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: *Dc in first st, Sc in next st*; repeat from * to * across row. Ch 1, turn. Pattern consists simply of alternating sc and dc across. On subsequent row, dc in sc of previous row, and sc in dc of previous row. Back: Simple sc rows. Helpful Info Crochet front, back, and embellishment pieces separately and attach together. Attach flowers, nest, bird, and flowers to front before attaching pillow pieces. (Leave at least 5” (12.7m) tails when making flowers. This will be helpful when attaching flowers). Ruffle trim is added after pillow pieces are attached.
